Carel
J.H. van Lynden (1952)
is partner at AKD Prinsen Van Wijmen, and works at the Transport Trade and
Insurance department of the firm. He is specialised in the fields of maritime
law and inland waterway transport, both where contracts, damages and financing
are concerned.
Carel is very active in the bunker trade. Furthermore insurance law and
international trade (contracts, sale and purchase and agency) form part of his
practice.
For many years he has served on the managing board of the firm, with
interdisciplinary cooperation, market and growth of the firm as special points
of attention. Presently he is managing partner Europe Middle East Africa of the
network of lawfirms allied to Deloitte.
Carel is active in many organisations, both within- and outside of the practice.
For example, he has been Chairman of the Commission on Private International Law
of the Union Internationale des Avocats for a number of years.
He is Honorary Consul of France and Chairman of the Board of the Royal Maas
Yacht Club.
