Would you like to:
| | Learn how fuel oil makes an engine run and what is needed for onboard pre-treatment? |
| | Learn and experience how to measure a bunker barge? |
| | Take a sample and experience the "sulphurous" flavour of heavy fuel yourself? |
| | Perform tests in a real laboratory yourself? |
Here is the chance to experience it all!
There are some well-known bunker courses on the market today which all have one thing in common and that is the theoretical approach!
BUNKEREXPERIENCE
offers
"hands-on" experience and does not send
attendees home with stacks of
books for studying.
You
will be dealing
with virtual reality.
Learn through EXPERIENCE!
This exclusive bunker course is designed to let you experience the real life of bunkering on the job.
| During
this
course you will: |
|
| | get familiar with relevant definitions, sampling and blending procedures, tank tables, calibration tables, and make calculations by yourself (lectured by Goris Vermeulen and Eildert van Slooten) |
| | measure a barge yourself guided by the 1st class marine surveyors of Inspectorate b.v. |
| | take temperatures, sample, see, and smell the oil |
| | perform tests on this sample, in Rotterdam's dedicated laboratory of Det Norske Veritas |
| | learn how crude oil finally comes to fuel oil and how this makes an engine run (lectured by Ton Visser) |
| | cruise through one of the leading ports of the world, guided by Capt. Cornelius de Keijzer, acknowledged expert of the Port of Rotterdam |
| See
and learn
about: |
|
| | the differences between distinct types of vessels i.e. a chemical tanker to a VLCC, and a panamax bulkcarrier to a postpanamax UCC |
| | port infrastructure, loading installations, jetties, and terminals |
| | understanding operational problems regarding "get-at-ability" for bunker barges, elevators, cranes, garbage and slop barges, and "board-board transhipment" for vessels alongside, etc. |
| Additionally: |
|
| | get hands-on legal guidelines from top marine lawyer Mr. Carel baron van Lynden |
| | Yuri Ouweneel MSc, head of business development at a leading barge contractor, will enlighten you on how the ARA market made a promising future in upscaling and renewing it's double hulled bunker fleet and also find out details about worlds largest, fully computerised inland barge of 9,500 mt. |
| | learn about the latest developments in "the big sulphur issue", which has had a huge impact on the bunker and shipping industry on both an international and European level |
| | Anyone involved in the bunker industry who hasn't had the opportunity to experience the "real life" of bunkering while on the job, regardless of how many years one has been in this business |
| | Anyone who would like to freshen-up their knowledge and/or real-life experience |
A group usually consists of about 10 different nationalities which is also a great opportunity for networking!
In
order to provide and
safeguard the right attention, groups will not exceed
22 attendees
Each day will begin with theoretical lectures, covering the
subjects of the day. These lectures do not
exceed 3 hours!
It is then time for real practice and, of course bunkering beyond the manual.
BUNKEREXPERIENCE has proven to be a high quality learning course and guarantees success.
Some quotes from past attendees:
- "The
course was very well
presented. Difficult subjects were passed on in a simplified manner, in
which it was easily understood"
- "I found there was a superb mix between theory and practice"
- "Great course! I have been in the industry for over 15 years, but
real practice does it!"
